"My God I Love Thee," a poem by St. Francis Xavier, was in my reading today. The last verse is:
Even so I love thee, and will love,
And in thy praise will sing,
Solely because thou art my God,
And my eternal King.
It made me think upon Sunday's sermon, "The Holiness of God." "What comes to mind when we think of God's Holiness," asked the pastor. My answer - Perfect Beauty. His answer - sinlessness. Now how perfectly beautiful is that? The sermon reading was from Isaiah, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!" Beauty. His awesome, glorious, stunning, powerful, worthy, holy, perfect beauty.
